今年の５月、アメリカ、ワシントンDCから新婚のご夫妻が来店。
『お店は知り合いの友人の紹介』
旦那様は香港生まれ！奥様はアジアが初めてと聞く、まずは日本の食べ物と,
文化が知りたく５日間、日本に滞在して、両親の住んでいる、香港へ行くと聞く！
初めは緊張していた御夫婦も周りの人達との会話が勢み、帰国後
実りのある楽しい時間だったとお礼のメールが頂いた。

所が７月の末、メキシコ人、ブラジル人の仲間３名と再び来店
なぜ各国の友人と一緒なの,,,,？と、聞いた所
『僕の仕事は日本料理店の調理場の厨房に立っている！
今回、日本料理に携わっている、各国の代表の選ばれた職人さん14名の1人として
来年の３月まで、京都の有名な料亭７.８件で修行の為来店
東京での開会式後、その中で親しくなった仲間と明日!
京都に行く前、是非とも、えのきに連れて来たいとの思いを…』

８ヶ月、彼らは厳しい訓練を受け、帰国後は一流のお店で
奮闘する姿、拝見したく

一言『京都無茶苦茶暑く、体を大事に….と伝えて別れたが、
　　　彼等から、帰国前もう一度、えのきに来店する約束をした』

In May of this year, the newlyweds couple from Washington DC in the USA came to Enoki.
A husband is an American born in Hong Kong and a wife is the first time in Asia not only Japan. Their friend introduced my restaurant.
She said they would go to Hong Kong to meet husband's parents lived in Hong Kong after staying in Japan for 5 days to know Japanese food and culture.
In the beginning, a couple looks nervous, but after had alcohol, they could talk with other customer and relaxed.
After left from Japan, they sent a mail of thank you to me.

At the end of July, a husband visited to Enoki again with Mexican guy and Brazilian guy.
I was wondering why is he with friends from different countries.
He said "My job is a chef of Japanese restaurant now! As one of the 14 chefs selected by the representatives of each country who are engaged in Japanese cuisine this time, it was decided to seven or eight famous traditional restaurant in Kyoto to go on training until next March. "
After the opening ceremony of training, He took to Enoki same situation 2 chefs from Mexico and Brazil.
Before going to Kyoto, by all means I was happy that he wanted me to take it to the Enoki.
They will have hard training for 8 months and will be working at a prestigious restaurant after returning each country.
I only advised to them, "Summer time of Kyoto is really hot and humit,so please take care of yourself."

And the other day the mail arrived from him.
"After our training has finished, I will come back to Enoki again before leave from Japan to returning home to each country."
I hope to see you them again.

雨期の季節、幾度なく大雨に見まわれ、空の色もグレー
心もグレー
だったら一瞬でも良いい透明の傘にアートの世界を作り、心豊かな自分に??
傘屋には、透明の傘がズラリ、1本500円、急な雨に人々は買いあさる…が
雨が上がると、ポィン捨て
だったら透明傘を面白く、ア~トの色に着せ替えしてみてワ~~
たとえば、水玉模様をモチーフにした芸術家「草間弥生」のカラフルな水玉や、
東京名物、「東京タワー、スカイツリー、レインボーブリッジ、漫画のキャラクター」
など、アートの傘を、世界でも有名な、渋谷駅前のスクランブル交差点でショウータイム、
もっといえば、3階当たりから見るアートのスクランブル、良いかも(^.^)
一瞬のアイデア

In the rainy season at Tokyo, heavy rain fell like every day.
My heart was dark and sad like gray sky.

So I thought to making a world of art by plastic umbrella and turning it into a pleasant feeling.
The umbrella shops and convenience stores sold so many transparent plastic umbrella.
Almost plastic umbrella is 500 yen only.
People will buy that umbrella if suddenly rains.
As the rain rises, many people disposal it without taking home.

I thought.
If you throw it away, I want to make umbrellas interesting and transform into art!
For example, Japanese artist "Yasuo Kusama's colorful polka dot pattern" ,
Tokyo's icon "Tokyo Tower, Sky Tree, Rainbow Bridge",
"Manga character" popular from overseas as well. . .
Show time at Shibuya scramble crossing famous in the world of art umbrella in front of Shibuya station!
To see scrambling art from the third floor or high building, I think it looks good (^. ^)
It was a momentary my idea.

阪神淡路大震災から20年目
阪神電車の石屋川駅からタクシーに乗り、震災の被害を受けた阪神高速３号線
の風景を見ながら、
『創業より十三代にわたり『福寿』の名を守り続け、手作りにこだわる酒蔵、酒心館へ足を運ぶ。
関内に入ってみると、ノーベル賞晩餐会（2012年）のテーブルに飾った（純米吟醸　福寿）がひときわ
目立った。
四季折々のお酒のセッテイングを楽しみ。地元の旬菜をはじめ自家製豆腐など蔵の料亭で食事を済ませた後

月の半分以上、住んでいるという友人のK氏の別荘地、六甲山へ車で行く、
途中、展覧台から阪神間、パノラマビューを見え、夜は100万ドルの夜景が見える場所に行った。
手軽なハイキングコースもあって、多くの登山者を見た。

１時間の予定で、山頂の回りを見て下山中、
K氏の会話から、”１週間の１日は下山して自宅に帰り、奥さんと、犬と再会してんね〜”
この間な〜ウチの奧さんに、山頂の自宅の前に、イノシシが出をよって、ビックリしたわ！！と言った所、
”あんた”その…イノシシ…、もしかして　”口紅をつけイノシシ” と違うの〜〜だって、イヤァ〜〜ウチの奧さん凄いわ！
皆で大笑い！

It has been 23 years since the Great Hanshin Awaji earthquake this year.
I saw the landscape of new Hanshin Express Highway No. 3 damaged by the earthquake while we taking a taxi from the Ishiyagawa station of the Hanshin Train.

My destination is a Jaapanese sake brewery called "Shushinkan".
It is a sake brewery that continues to make sake called "Fukuju" handmade over thirteen generations from the foundation.
When we entered into sake brewery, Junmai Ginjo Fukuju lined up in the table of the Nobel Prize dinner party was conspicuous in 2012.
While having the staff introduce the seasonal sake, we ate local delicious foods including homemade tofu and vegitables.

After having finished the meal, I went to Mr. K's villa ground, Rokko Mountain by car.
He lives near the summit of Mt. Rokko and he stayed there over half of a month.
The night view from the observation deck where we can go by car was very beautiful.
Rokko Mountain had a handy hiking course, and there were also many climbers.

Mr. K told me an interesting story while looking down the mountain top and descending.
"Usually I go down to the mountain on once a week and go home and meet my wife and our dog, but the other day when I talked that the wild boar came in front of my villa, my wife suspected boar as "the boar wearing lipstick" (=another woman)! I was so suprise!"
We laughed a lot with everyone.

金曜日(一般のサリマンの人々)1週間の疲れを、1人落ち着いた場所で
知らない人々と会話が出来る小さなお店に足を運ぶ。
店側では、今日はどのような方が、ご来店されるのか、気持ちが弾む。
5:30 ..海外の観光の人々が、顔を出し、6名ですが、入って良いですか？
一言「予約のお店です。申し訳ございません。」また若い女の子が、入るが
「予約」と断る。
なぜ?? 長年人を見る判断力と苦労してゼロから、お客様を作って来た。
時の流れと云うが …自身の評価も分からず、勝手にお店の評価の数字や、料理の良し悪
しを書き込むネット時代。
大衆酒場と違って、座る椅子も限られている。
だからこそ、同じ志しを持っている人々が集うお店にと思いながら、
席を開けている金曜日、そろそろ老若男女が来店する時間 !!

General company workers work from morning until late every day on weekdays and they are off on weekends.
When it comes to Friday, they go to a small restaurant where they can chill, talking with people who don't know in one calm place.
I really looking forward to thinking what kind of person is coming to my Enoki today.

5:30 pm
Some tourists who came from abroad, "there are six people, can we come in?"
I said "Tonight is reservation only. I'm sorry."
A young girl also tried to enter the store but refused by "reservation is full".

You might wonder why I declined.
I stood in a bar counter for years and wore judgment about seeing people by touching various people.
There ware various people 's support helps me as well as I learnt to make valued customers by struggling.

Nowadays even if someone doesn't know the evaluation of himself, it is a internet era to write scores on the restaurant without permission and write the good or bad of cooking.
Unlike a mass public izakaya, my small shop has limited seating chairs.
That is why I would like to be a restaurant where people with the same passion gather.
Friday I am opening the seat purposely.
it is about time for customers to visit me!

カラオケ、時には麻雀、洋服のセンスも中々の着こなし、スラリとした身長が目に引く
83歳のN氏
長い間 N氏の人格をカウンターの中から拝見させて頂いたが、中々の几帳面な方

"ママさ~ァ僕も今の仕事も今月で終り、これから残り少ない一日一日を楽しむよ~と
円満な笑顔の一言!!
言葉が終わると、仲間や回りの人々から「ご苦労さでしたでした」と、長い拍手をかわした。
その半年後、ある事件にまきこまれた。
代議士の金銭トラベル!! 以前N氏はその代議士の帳簿の管理をやっていた事から、
事情聴取されるは、毎日のように報道陣が自宅の前に押し寄せてくるは!も~~ぉ大変
ご近所の方々には大変ご迷惑をかけるし、どうする事も出来ず、
自宅を離れ、移動することを決めて数ヶ月、転々とホテル暮らしの生活だった。
.'...時間も立ち、落ち着いた為、久し振り、えのきに来店
時は過ぎ愉快に「ハハハ~~と笑い、ママさ~ァ長く生きていると、何もない人生なんて無いよ…
大好きな日本酒をゴクリ…と、素晴らしい笑顔が印象的な紳士!!

Mr. N, 83, is an attractive person.
He is tall and has a good fashion sense, good singer at karaoke, sometimes a fun person who also enjoys mahjong.
For a long time, I saw Mr. N's personality who came to my shop from the counter table.
I think he is a clever and friendly personality.
When he finish his previous job he said
"Hey Mama, my current work is over in this month, I will enjoy the rest of the day from now on!" with a word of full smile.
When words ended, applaused from his companies and other customer.

However, six months later, he was involved in a major incident called a monetary trouble of a parliamentarian.
Previously Mr. N have maneged account books of the parliamentarian.
A police was questioned to him and the reporters was coming in front of his house like everyday.
It seems to be a terrible riot.
He did not do bad things while he was workin for a parliamentarian, but it bothers the neighbors very much.
He dicided to leaving home and livied a few months moving around the hotel.

Then time passed the problem seems settle down, Mr. N came to the Enoki for the first time after the problem.
He laughing pleasantly and said,
"I have lived long time, there is no life without anything"
He was drinking his favorite Japanese sake.
A wonderful smile is an impressive gentleman !!

2018年03月09日

東北大震災から7年目、大きな被害を受けた釜石の呑んべい横丁
同じ仕事の志しの想いが、通じ、震災後から今日に至るまで、姉妹交流
始めて釜石市に足を踏み入れたのは、震災後の翌年の2月とても寒かった。
仮設でのお店の中も寒く「何と寒いのか唖然」とした…が、
年数を量ねる度、お店の味も出て、ストーブも入り、暖かい空気を感じた。
寒い所に縁も無かったが、食べ物を出す際、小さくこぎれいに出すのでなく
1匹の魚がど~んと出てくるし、おでんも山盛り、"コレうめいから食べろ"
東北の人は明るいく心の器が大きい!!
そんな横丁の皆様も、今年の3月で仮設での営業が終了
亡くなった方、辞められた方、違う場所に移られた方
現在残っているお店は組合長さんのお店と4件
次につながる計画もまだはっきりしていないとの事
東京の横丁から寄付をした、看板、テレビ、ゴミ箱も、今回で無くなる。
今後も地域の皆様に、元気を与えて頂きたい為にも、違う場所での再スタート
健康で頑張って頂きたい。
何かしらのご縁、これからも、個人として、末永く交流して行く予定…

Seven years have passed since the Tohoku earthquake occurred in 2011.
"Kamaishi Nonbei Yokocho" in Kamaishi city, Iwate prefecture that suffered great damage
Through the thought of doing the same work, we interchange as a sister-yokocho from after the earthquake till now.
It was very cold in February 2012 the following year after the earthquake that I visited Kamaishi city for the first time.
It is very cold inside the store at the temporary construction restaurant, so far I was stunned as I was not in the cold region.
However, temporary store getting better year by year, I felt the warm atmosphere.
In restaurants of Kamaishi-coty, when we serve food, they don't put cleanly.
One big fish comes on top of big dish. Oden also plenty.
They smiled and said "You must eat because it' s delicious".
People in the Tohoku region are bright and their hearts are big!

Such Yokocho, finally finished open at temporary store in March of this year.
I heard various stories from those who died in the earthquake, those who quit the shop, those who moved to a different place.
Currently the only shops they have are union chief's shops and four others.
It seems that the plan leading up to the next street is not clear yet.
Signboards, television and dustbins donated from our Yokocho in Tokyo also disappear this year.
We are looking forward to restarting in different places by all means in order to give the local people the vitality in the future as well.
I would like you to stay healthy and do your best.
I am going to exchange for a long time, as an individual.

今年に入って、早くも都心に⛄️が振り
夕方 5時には、早やくも20cm、渋谷駅は、早目に帰宅する人々の列で
入場制限をしているとの事
11;00前、お店も早目に閉め、ガード下で即タクシーが乗れた。
不思議と空席のタクシーが結構いた。
乗ったタクシー、スノータイヤをつけている為か、運転手さん凄く緊張気味
所が、スノータイヤをつけていない車、何故かどんどん抜いていく
ノロノロ運転…乗っている自分が、逆に、"運転手さん大丈夫ですか?" と
声を掛ける程
坂道を登る場所に来た。坂道の途中、若い女性が、翌朝滑らないよう
雪掛けをしていた所へタクシーが登って来たため中断、車を待っていた。
スノータイヤをつけいるのに、二回エンジンを掛け直すが
登り切れず、その姿をみていた若い女性
どおしました…というような様子で見ていて笑っている。
こちらも疲れはて、途中降り、さっさと坂を登って帰宅
電車の入場制限や、雪で坂道が登れない車、都会は大変

車が好きで5年前、運転手になったとの事

That day was snowing in Tokyo though less than a month since starting this year.
In the evening around 5 pm, the snow piled as early as 20 cm, many people tried to go home earlier than usual.
Shibuya station was packed by restricting entry.

Enoki was opened as usual that day but I closed earlier before 11 pm.
When I searched for a taxi until I got home, many vacant taxi were available.
I was able to catch a taxi immediately under the guard.

The driver seemed to be more nervous than usual because he was wearing a snow tire dedicated to snow which he didn't use normally.
I do not know why, but the taxi that I got on was overtaken by cars on a car without snow tires.
He Said he became became a taxi driver five years ago by he likes a car, but he made surprisingly slow driving driving.
I am worried and asked "Are you OK?" to him.

The taxi came to a place to climb the slope.
On the way of the slope, a young woman was waiting for traffic as the taxi climbed when she was shoveling snow so as not to slide the next morning.
Even though taxi was wearing a snow tire, car couldn't climb up the slope even if I twisted the engine twice by excessive creep driving.
A young lady who was watching the figure was laughing while watching a taxi as if he was concerned.
I got tired of this unusually worried taxi driver, I got off on the way, walked quickly, climbed a slope and came home.

Limited entry to the train, cars where the slope can not climb up by snow, urban areas are hard if snow falls.

オープン前、そろそろ「のれん」を出す時間、時には、お店の前に少々の
水を撒き、ドアのガラスには、
のれんの真ん中の二枚を半分に折、お店の中が良く見えるように、
何十年、のれんとドアの顔を作って来た。
ドアの前を行ったり来たり、思いきって入いちやえ、
「あの…始めての客ですが良いですか ? 」
一眼見て、「どうぞ ! 」……「う~~ん」、「今日は予約が入っています」
え~~なぜ断るの~ ？の、毎日の連発

所が、3.4年前から、横丁のエリアには、毎日多くの海外の人達が、増えて来た。
残念なのが、知らずにドカドカと店のドアを勝ってに開けたり、
行きなりお店の中に入って来る。
のれんの外からは、平気でお店の中の写真を撮したり、のれんをざつに掴んだり、
文化の違いかもしれないが、少しお行儀が悪いと感じて大変残念である。
もっと日本の文化の勉強をして来て欲しい…そして、私達もこの文化を伝え続けることで、
本当のおもてなしが出来て、楽しい旅と嬉しい人々が増えると信じています。

When opening in my restaurant, I hung "Noren" to the door of entrance.
(Noren is a cotton curtain hannging at the entrance of shops or restaurants.
It originally indicated the nature of business and longstanding history of the shop, but today it is used mostly for decorative purposes)

Before I hang my noren, clean the front of the shop and sprinkle a little water.
On the glass of the door, fold the two in the middle of the noren in half and hang it so that the inside of the restaurant looks better.
It has been decorating the entrance of Enoki for decades.

I think many first customers are wondering if they should enter or not.
The first customer walks back and forth in front of the door before deside to enter.
"I am the first customer, can I seat?"
I desided by the first impression of someone because Enoki is not so wide.
"here you go ! "
"Well..."
"Sorry, I have many reservation today"
I answer a lot of kind pattern.
Sometime the customer not convinced when I decline.

In recent years the number of foreign visitors has increased in the area of Nonbei-Yokocho.
Of course it is nice to have more customers.
Unfortunately there are a lot of people who open the door of the shop without hesitating to enter the restaurant suddenly.
Outside of noren curtain, taking pictures without taking permission, shooting pictures inside the shop, grabbing noren curtain, pulling noren curtain.
It may be a cultural difference, but I feel very sorry to feel a little bad manners.
I think they should study Japanese culture more.
And by continuing to communicate this culture, we believe that real hospitality "Omotenasi" can be made, more pleasant travels and more delightful people will be joined.

朝の通勤ラッシュの電車に乗り、会社では仕事に追われ、街での雑音の賑やかさ
朝 1番の出張先...? 2時間余り新幹線に揺られて地方へ...しかも日帰り.......
ふっと思う,たまには"自分の個人負担で"グリーン車に乗り、身体を伸ばして、
頭を休めるって良いのではと?実現する。
女性の乗務員が座席のチェックとおしぼりを持って来る。
う~ん「おしぼりだけ」攻めて「お茶&コーヒ一位一杯出しても悪くないのでは?
しかも乗っている時間が長いです。
*(サービスをすると、人によっては、何杯も注文する人が多くいるかも…)
あくまでも、個人の考え

A general salaried worker is going to the company on a train of commuting rush in the morning.
In the company he is chased by work and he heard bustling noise in Tokyo cities.

Sometimes he got on the first bullet train in the morning and travels to the suburban city or the rural area.
Even if it takes two hours one way, it could be a day trip.
If he pays himself, even if the company does not accept reimbursment, he thoughts he should to ride the green car (Business class on bullet train).
If have a seat on green-car would be able to extend the body and rest my mind.

A woman 's crew brings a seat check and towel.
It is an individual thought, but because it takes a long time to ride, he wanted "a cup of tea or coffee at least" rather than toweling at least.
But if do such a service, not difficult to suppose some people who ordered too much drink . . .

画家の両親のもとで幼少より絵を楽しみ大学から日本画を描き、
童話や絵本の挿絵、又源氏物語絵巻と詞書を模写
keisuke
アイルランドのハープ（金属弦アイリッシュ.ハープ）の演奏と研究、教育
制作に奮闘している御夫妻

5,6年前から”えのき”のお店には、いつも御夫婦で来店！
京都出身、
圭佑さんのハープの演奏会、4年前初めて聞いた時には、何と良い音かと感動する。
智子さんの日本画、先月、渋谷のギャラリー展に、初めて作品を鑑賞
手作りハープの木の周り、金属弦の奥に智子さんの幻想的な日本画が描かれ
鑑賞する際、旦那さんのハーブの奏と絵が、対面的
絵の中には愛猫が、（私女優よ～）と、愛くるしく何点か描かれていて
御夫婦の中心者,,,,,,,,

年に3.4回国内での個展、海外での個展もあり、御夫婦それぞれ教室も開いている。

T, Keisuke & tomoko

Mrs. Tomoko of the wife

She is an artist of Japanese style painting. Her parents are also artists, so she enjoyed painting from her childhood. She started Japanese style painting after she enter the University.
She also draw illustrations of children's stories and picture books.
There is also an activity that imitates the picture scroll of the "Genji-Monogatari".

Mr. Keisuke of husband

He is a Japanese from Kyoto but he is an Irish harp player.
It is an artist working hard with the performance, research, production and education of the "metal string Irish harp" tradition discontinued at the end of the 19th century while having the tradition of 1000 years.
It is a couple who will come to my "Enoki" from 5 or 6 years ago.

I went to the concert of Keisuke 's harp four years ago.
When I heard harp for the first time, I was very moved by how beautiful sounds.

Last month, I went an exhibition of Japanese paintings by Tomoko at the gallery in Shibuya, so I watched the work for the first time.
Tomoko's Japanese style paintings were drawn behind Keisuke's hand-made metal strings harp, and I was impressed.
The sounds of Keisuke's harp and Tomoko's fantastic Japanese painting are paired.
I found some lovely cats in her painting. I regconised she is their cat!
The cat seems to be saying "I am an actress."
It was a very wonderful exhibition.

She does solo exhibitions domestically three or four times a year, and there are also solo exhibitions abroad.
I was impressed by the wonderful couple who are also having harp classes and Japanese painting classes.

初夏から秋へ
　お店の裏の小さな林の中では、てんとう虫、青とかげ、カタツムリ、
　オンブバッタ、カマキリ、キリギリスなど初夏の短い中
　多種多様な昆虫を見かける。
　夜中、店の壁に動きもせず、飛んで来る害虫をひたすら待つ”ヤモリ”だが、
　昼間の異動の際、猫に噛まれて、死んでいる姿を見かける。
　8月コオロギに似たカマドウマ『湿気の高い場所を好む』必ずお店の
　何処からか出て来て、たまには、人間の洋服にも飛んで来る。
　9月の半ば、ミンミンゼミとツクツクボウシの混じり遭った鳴き声も
　翌日、声が消えている。
　消えた前後、林の中では、鈴虫、松虫、コオロギが鳴き
　中秋の名月、ススキとのコントラストが、心を癒される。
　毎年多くの昆虫の死骸を土に埋めている度『又愛される昆虫に
　生まれて来てね,,,,』と、言葉をかけてあげる。
　気候変動が狂っても、季節になると、必ずや昆虫達は姿を現す！

From the early summer to the autumn the season will change.
In a small forest behind my restaurant, I see a variety of insects briefly in the early summer such as ladybugs, lizards, snails, mantis, grasshoppers.
In the middle of the night, geckos appear on the walls of my restaurant.
They are waiting chance to eat the flying insect pests.
But when I go out in the daytime, I often see the gecko died by straycats bite .

In August, It seems that the characteristic of Camel Cricket resembling the cricket seems to prefer "a place with high humidity."
It is a place where temperature and humidity are high in the my restaurant where many people.
Appears somewhere in the shop, and occasionally it fly to human clothes.

In early September, the barks that many voice of cicadas were mixed, sometimes the voice disappeared the following day.
After the cicada disappears, bell crickets and crikets are chirping at night, and listening to insects' voices while watching the Mid Autumn moon and Japnaese pampas grasses will heal my heart.

Every year I bury a lot of insect carcasses in the earth.
I say "You should born again." and pray for them every time.
Even if the climate of the earth goes wrong, when the season comes, the insects surely reveal their appearance.
I feel the strength of life.

行きつけのお寿司屋のお店のドアーを開けた所、カウンターは満席、
その間、一人の若い男性も入って空席待つ事10分、
4.5席が空き、板前さんが、友人と私にこちらの席へと云われ座ったが、
先ほどの男性はなぜか向い側の席へ？
その場所には一人の御夫人が座っていたが、飲み物はお茶
お寿司の注文はしているよだけどなぜか、本を読んでいる？
そんな所へ若い男性が座ったものだから
彼の方へちらちら、見ながら、何かぶつぶつ云っている。
そんな姿を友人と見ていた。　　
数分後、彼の顔が”嫌な叔母さん”だな～と、いわんばかり
私達の方に何度も見ながら、顔が引きつき、
何か不愉快のように見えた為
板前さんに...彼の状況を伝え、私達の列が空いているので
座って頂くように伝えた所、即、席を離れて、私達の席に座った。
『やたらに声をかけて来るし気分の悪い叔母さん、
本当は席を離れたかった....と』
呼んでもらってありがとうございます！とお礼を云われた。

その後、彼が席をはずして、５分も立たない間、御夫人も帰られたが、
カウンターの中の板前さん、注文された仕事だけでなく、
一人で来店されたお客様には、特に声を掛けるなり
気配りが在るか無いか、お店の満足度が問われる。
　　　
そんな姿を自分に置き換えて学ぶ事多いにあり

When I went to my favorite sushi restaurant, the counter seats were full on that day.
A young man came in and waited for the vacant seat for about ten minutes.

After that, since 4-5 seats were available, the sushi chef said 'please seat this seat' to me but the young guy was guided to the seat on the opposite side.
A lady was sitting next to the place.
It looks like you are ordering sushi, but she had hot tea and somehow she was reading a book.
When a young man sat there, that lady glares at him and says something to herself.
If I looked at such a figure with my friend, after few minutes, his face expressed "disgusting aunt" to her.
We looked unpleasant to his face, I told him about the situation to the sushi chef and tell him to sit down because we are nearby.
He quickly took off his seat and sat down next to us.
"I wanted to leave my seat because that lady said me something bad. Thank you very much for calling me here! "
He appriciated to us.
After that woman left in less than five minutes after he moved his seat.

For customers visiting alone, the satisfaction level of the shop changes depending on whether there is a particular voice or attentiveness.
The sushi chef in the counter is working to make ordered sushi, but that is not all.
I thought that there are many things to learn by replacing such appearance with myself.

1947年～1949年生まれ、ベビーブーム時代の人々が、
　会社を離れてから、飲食街と飲み方もかなり変わって来た時代になった。
　
　現役時代のS氏、週1仕事が終わると、『後輩に今から一杯いくぞ～～の一声』で、
　「後輩は、”はい”　』と、素直に付いて行き、先輩の好物、ビールを
　グラスに注ぎ”ゴクゴク”と飲む先輩『あ＾〜あ今日も精一杯働いたぞ〜』と
　後輩のグラスに次から次へとビールが入る所で、仕事の失敗談、人間関係の不満や　
　言い訳など話が弾む、ふっと時計を見て、
　そろそろ次の店で、ぱ〜〜と歌うか！とお店を去る。
　2軒、3軒ハシゴをして、自宅に帰る様子無し、部下と共になぜか
　足が最初に行ったお店に顔出し？？
　へらへらと笑い、ママよ〜今何時だけ....え〜〜俺11時位と思っていたのに？？
　姿を見ると、白いワイシャツはズボンからはみ出し、酒飲みの遭われな格好

　これからタクシーで自宅に帰るの..と,訪ねると？
　いや〜今日は近くのカプセルホテルで泊まるよ。
　又ネと、右、左、フラフラしながら帰って行くS氏
　
　そんな、S氏も2,3年前、40年以上勤めていた会社を退社
　どんなに遅く迄、飲んで帰っても、仕事が一番、
　朝は始発の電車に乗り往復3時間の通勤通い、退職が近くになる頃、ふっと
　も〜う電車通勤疲れたよ,,
　
　今は3ヶ月に１度、良き仲間と飲み会へ都市に、でも帰宅にはタクシーと決めている。
　退職後、地域のボランテに携わっていると伺う。
　ご苦労様です。

From 1947 to 1949 after the end of the war, Japan was a baby boom.
When people of that generation retired away from the company, the manner of eating and drinking styles changed considerably.

Mr. S is one of that generation.
He always told the freshman "Go for drinking" once a week when the work finished, and the freshman also obviously entered obediently.
His juniors poured his' favorite beer into the glass.
Mr S always said "I worked my best this week," he took a drink of beer at once.
They drink a lot and talked about failures in work, dissatisfaction of human relations and exchange of opinions.
After ate the dinner, they always wanted to go Karaoke!
I have been watching the appearance of leaving the store for decades.
They went 2, 3 bar hopping every weekend where they did not return home.
By the time the last train ceased, somehow he came back to my shop who first went with the same member.
They confirmed the time to me as they got drunk and laughing.
"What time is it? Eh ~ I thought that it was around 11 o'clock yet? What? "
Looking closely, the suit became wrinkled, the white shirt protruded from the pants, and anyone looked drunk regardless of how it looked.
He alreasy missed last train so I ask if I go home by taxi and I remember Mr. S's way back home while saying "I will stay at a nearby capsule hotel today."

2 or 3 years ago, Mr.S retired from the company who finally worked for more than 40 years.
He always drinking and back late, however the work was his first priority.
Every morning, he took a first train, then work 8-10 hours then back his home by train took 1.5 hours!
He continued it 40 years.
I think that it is a very splendid thing.

Right now, I will come to Shibuya once a month for a good companion and a drinking party.
But he seems to have decided to take a taxi to go home.
After retirement, he seems to be working as a volunteer for the living area.
It is hard work.

今から10年前、明るく元気の良い関西人の女性が、仲間達と来店
いかにも、『私達スポーツそれも”ラクロス”をやっています』？
どのようなスポーツか全く見た事がなかったので、彼女との縁も逢って
何度か試合を見に行った。
200７年日本女性初プロ選手に抜擢されるが、迷いを後ろから
『後悔しない人生思い切ってやり切る事を』伝える
2008年オーストラリアへ渡り、日本とオーストラリアを往復しながらの生活
4年前、カナダでのワールドカップは、惜しくも、言葉や文化、
積極性など欠けていた事からオーストラリア代表に選ばれず！
幾多の難関を超え、レベルの高い強豪チームに所属

今月7/12~22に始まるロンドン、ワールドカップ、オーストラリア代表に選ばれる。
28各国の強豪が世界一を目指す

About ten years ago, a woman who speaks lively and bright Kansai dialect has visited a friend.
Her atmosphere is an active woman.
When they listened, they told me that sports it is also doing "Lacrosse".
I had never seen Lacrosse, so I decided to visit her game several times and I got along with her.

In 2007, she was nominated for Japan's first female professional player!
However, she was suffering about it.
I advised her "It is important to dare to survive the life you do not regret."

Next year, in 2008, she went to Australia and started living while traveling back and forth between Japan and Australia.
Unfortunately the World Cup in Canada four years ago was not chosen as the Australia national team because of lack of language, culture, aggressiveness and so on.

However, this year, She belonged to a strong teams who overcame many difficulties and had a high level and was chosen as the representative of Australia national team!!
The Lacrosse World Cup in London starting from12th to 22th of July this month.
The powerful 28 countries aim for the world's best.

Last week when she came to the shop, she came to tell me.
Her aims field of the final game on July 22.
I also want to firmly support her from Japan.
Yukiyo Yamada Go for it! You can do it!

横丁、戦後（1948年）のマーケット飲食街としての名残りを持ち
赤ちょうちんに、一杯飲屋としての特長といえば特長であるが、
一軒一軒のお店には個々の特長が無く皆同じスタイルだった。
この辺りが、若い人々が寄り付かなく、一部の人達だけが仕事の帰り側
行きつけのお店に寄って、一日の反省をしながら、たっぷり飲み
自宅に待つお母ちゃんに、『毎晩飲んで帰る事の反省に....お持ち帰りの寿司』を
ぶらさげて、電車に揺られ帰って行く姿、これが、赤ちょうちんの
特長であった。
時代と共に、今や女性が一人で飲みに来れる店、若い世代が入りやすい店に
お店の特長もそれぞれ個性を持った店が増えてはいるが、
残念な事に今の経営するオーナは、戦後と変わらない、流行の特長が
皆同じスタイルである為、リピートとして来るお客様は限られる。
商売は努力、我慢、勉強、人でなく、自分を鍛え磨いて行かなければ成功は
しない。

Shibuya's Nenbei Yokocho has a remnant as a market eating and drinking area in 1948 after the Second World War.
The izakaya has a feature. The red lantern under the eaves.
The word "red lantern" refers to a pub/Izakaya in Japanese.

In 50's, every shops had no individual features and they all had the same style.
I think this point is the reason why young people didn't come Yokocho.
Only some of them go to the shops after work and reflect on the their day with plenty of alchol drink.
To their family who waits at home, they pretend as "Sorry for returning after drinking every night ..." .
The appearance of a salaried worker who hangs take away sushi of the souvenir and go back home by the late train, this is the feature of the regular customer at red lantern pub there were.

Along with the times, the red lantern pub is easy to enter the younger generation, and even a single woman can come to drink.
The number of shops each with its own personality is increasing, but unfortunately the idea of the owner does not differ much from 60 years ago.
Since all the features of the trend are the same style, customers who come as regulars are limited.
Business is effort, patience, study.
I will not succeed unless training and polish yourself, not others.

お店を初めて10年目頃ちょつとしたハプニングがあった。
階段の傍に座った初めての40代後半の紳士、ニコニコしながら
ビールとつまみを注文し、隣の人々となにげなく会話
しばらくして、店内にトイレが無いので共同トイレに....
数分後、戻るなり、ウイスキーそれもキープをしたいとそのウイスキーを
2,3杯飲んだ所、又トイレに....
その後戻ってくるはずの紳士、5分10分立っても戻って来ないまさか？の、
無銭飲食者だ騙された。
3年後、見た事のある人物が来店、ニコニコしながらビールの注文
偶然座った所が、3年前と同じ場所
あの時の無銭飲食者の顔と会話、仕草が良くに似ている。
2本のビールとつまみを食べて、トイレへ行くと出て行った。
その間、馴染みのお客様に3年前の話をした。
『もし..2度目のトイレに出て行く際、
お店に戻るか、戻らないか？を確かめて合図をする約束』...を

数分後人物が戻って来た..ビールを飲み会話がはずむ
そろそろ2度目のトイレに行くと席を立った...
出て行った様子を伺った。トイレの前に入るかと思いや曲ってやはり逃げた。
馴染みの２人が追いかけ、捕まえてきた。3年前の話と財布を見たが、一円も入っていなかった。
その後、無銭飲食者は居ないが、『見る目、仕草、話を良く聞く訓練』大事!!

There was a bit of happening around the tenth year after opening my restaurant Enoki.
He was a gentleman in late 40's who had sitting in a seat near the stairs.
He ordered beer and some foods with a smile, talking casually with customers next door.
After drinking for a while, my shop didn't have a own restroom so he went outdoor shared restroom in Nonbei Yokocho.
He came back in a few minutes, he orderd a bottle of whiskey and said wanted to keep it.
He drank a few cups of that whiskey and went to the toilet again.
After that, he didn't return after more than 10 minutes.

No way. . . I am worried, I went to the toilet but no one is here anymore.
He went home without paying any money!
It was fooled deeply.

3 years later, a familiar person came to my shop again.
He ordered beer with a smile, and the place where he sat down was coincidentally the same place as bilk of 3 years ago.
I observed him carefully.
I felt that the face of the culprit at that time was similar to the conversation and gesture.
After eating two bottles of beers and foods, he went out to the toilet.
I was anxious, Then I consulted a regular customer.
"I think that the first toilet will come back, but if you go out to the second toilet, will you go back to the shop or not go back? Let's make a signal by ascertaining. "
He said so and we dicided cooperate.

A few minutes later, that person came back from the toilet and drank beer again.
And after 30 minutes, he went restroom second time, so I asked regular customers to see where he went out.
He went to out, but didn't enter the toilet, he turned around the way and ran away!!
Two people who were watching behind chased him and caught a criminal.
I confirmed the contents of his purse, but he didn't have any money.

Although there was never a crime of dine and dash,
The training "to learn, observe attitudes, carefully listen to the story" is important!

京都の西に面している「桂離宮」のチケットがとれたので
足を運んで観た。
四条から阪急鳥丸駅迄徒歩数分、阪急電車に乗り桂駅へ下車
お昼の時間もあって、駅校内でおむすびと食材を買い
公園内で食べる事を前提で準備をした。
「行って分かった事、持込み禁止でした」
小雨降る中15分歩いて桂離宮に到着、周りを見てベンチを探すが無い、仕方なく
近くの川沿いに行き下り坂の辺で、食べる事にした。
友人2名と、ナイロン袋の上に腰掛けようと想った、その時
ガサガサと音がしたなんだろうと思った瞬間、まだ幼い蛇が
なんとカエルを追いかけている....ギャ~~でなく、可愛い~~~
"こら" と声をかけると、蛇とカエルがキョトンとして1.2分
私の顔を見ていた。
そのうち蛇は茂みの中に姿を消して行ったが、カエルはジィーとしていて
全く動く気配なしー?? "カエルちゃん~何処か早く隠れなさい、蛇から喰われるよ"
と…川の茂みに逃がしてやった。
その姿を見ていた友人達、食べる事で、全く興味無し、タダ....気持ち悪いの一言でした。

I got tickets for public open day of "Katsura Rikyu" (Katsura Imperial Villa) on the west side of Kyoto, I went to Kyoto.
From Shijo Station to Hankyu Karasuma station a few minutes on foot, take the Hankyu train and get off at Katsura station.
That time was lunch time, I bought rice balls and some foods inside the station on the premise that we will eat in the park of Katsura Rikyu.

When we arrived at the Katsura Rikyu, there was a sign for "ban on bringing in food".
There was no choice, we walked for about 15 minutes while it was raining, decided to go along the river nearby and eat the foods we bought in the downhill area.
When I sitting on a plastic bag with two friends, I suddenly heard a shadow from the bushes.
At the moment when I turned around looking back, a small snake was following the frog!
Wow! Snakes and frogs! But it's cute!
When saying "Hey," the snake and the frog stopped moving and was looking at my face for 1.2 minutes.
The serpent disappeared in the bushes, but the frog kept moving and watching me.
"Frog - you must hide somewhere soon, you will be eaten from snakes"
I made it to the bushes next to the river.
Friends who were watching that appearance, they seem to be completely uninterested by eating.
Snake and frog were bad for them.

１月に入ると、海外から家族ずれの旅行者が多く、殆どがスキーの愛好者
両親はスキー、お子さん方はスノーボード
なぜ日本なんですか？と聞くと、日本の雪の質がすばらしく
温泉に漬かって、地元の食事が最高だと,,,,

ある日、海外の家族ずれの旅行者が顔を出されたが、私共予約のお店と断った所
５分後..又,顔を出して明日予約したいと云われ、翌日５人の家族が来店
初めて日本に来店されたそうで、スキーの話がはずんだ頃
お父さんが一言、今日娘の誕生日と云われた。
『そう云えば昨夜、お店にはシャンパンがあるのか聞かれた...?あ～そうゆう事ね』
何処の国もそうだが、特に娘の誕生日は大事にする。
たまたま傍に座っていた気配りの常連客、即ケーキを買って来た。
お店からはスパークリングワインをプレゼント！全員でハッピーバースディーを合唱〜
言葉はまばらだけど、初めての日本、楽しんで頂ければとの思い
内.外問わず遠くからご来店下さった人達を大事に！

In January, many of visitors who come to my restaurant are ski lovers and travelers from overseas with families.
Parents enjoy skiing and children enjoy snowboarding as well.

When I ask "Why do you choose Japan for skiing?", everybody say Japan's snow quality is wonderful.
There are hot springs in the vicinity of many ski resorts in Japan, local meal is also delicious, the best snow quality are good.

One day, a traveler with an overseas family member came my plave, but i had to declined to seat because shop was full.
However, they said "we would like to return! can we make a reservation tomorrow?".
Of course OK!

Then, the next day five families came to Enoki.
They came to Japan for the first time, and it got excited with the story of skiing.
The father secretly told me that today is his daughter 's birthday.
He was asked me I have champagne or not yesterday,
I come up father's wants to celebrate.
As in any country,the father care of thier daughter 's birthday, in particular.
An attentive regular customer sitting by the side went to buy the cake quickly. .
We gave sparkling wine from Enoki!
Everyone chorus Happy Birthday ~
Words are differrent, but I sang the same song and it made a fun birthday.
I am happy if you can enjoy it for the first time in Japan.
I would like to cherish the customers where ever from.

今年も内、外問わず、150枚以上...の年賀状を頂きました。
時代と共に年賀状を出す人々が少なく感じますが
家族の写真、結婚式の写真、子供が大きくなった写真、犬、猫と共に...
孫の写真、一家全員の写真.....
82歳まだまだ現役！！元気だよ～のメッセージ
御主人亡きお店に中々いけないが、娘や息子が引き続き、お店に通う
えのきの人々の話題を伝えて貰って、感謝しています....とのメッセージ
等々
一枚一枚年賀状を読んでは、笑ったり、目頭が熱くなったり、も～ぅ大変
この小さなお店の中って、不思議な宝物がどっしり入っている事
枚数は減っても年賀状って改めて　”日本の文化”　と感じる。

お店の年賀状はプロの漫画家に書いて頂いてる
干支の絵を表現豊かに、満喫の笑顔が評判、今年もよろしく！！

I feel that people who send New Year 's cards with the times gradually became fewer, but I received more than 150 New Year' s cards this year as well.
Family pictures, wedding pictures, pictures of children growing, pictures with pets such as dogs and cats, photographs of grandchildren, photographs of all family members .......
Also message from 82 years old man. he is still active!
and message from old customer, My husband gone, I can't visit Enoki nowadays, but my daughter and son continued to go to Enoki and thanked them for telling me the topics of the people of Enoki ...

Reading New Year 's cards one by one, it makes me laugh, touching my heart, sad and feel so happy.
I realized again my little Izakaya Enoki has the magical treasure.
Even if the number of cards is reduced, the New Year 's cards is "Japanese culture" truly.

Incidentally, Enoki's New Year' s cards are drawn by a professional cartoonist.
it is expressing expressions of zodiac signs richly with good smile.
This cards are receive favorable reviews from my customers.
Finally, everyone, thank you again last year.

62年続いている、料理屋のお店がある。
御両親が離婚後、お母さんが切り開いたお店、それも異国の国
私は今82歳　目標！何があっても、100年は続けたい....
80代は見えない、若々しいオーナー
地にしっかり足が着き、スタッフの皆さんも、お店同様長いおつきあいを
されている。
多衆多様なお店のオーナ、性格もさなざまであるが
長い目で見ると、地味であるが、人、物、金を、上手におつきあいして
生活のバランスも、上手である。
不思議な事に、そんなお店の方々と長～いお付合いを
させて頂き、他所の物真似など一切なし、
今年も気持ちの良い朝を迎えた、まず今年も健康第一
『夢』＝えのきの看板100年続ける事。。。

I know a shop of a long-established restaurant that has been in operation for 62 years.
In addition, this restaurant in a foreign country.
Owner Madam opened up the restaurant after parents divorced.
The goal of a owner who is invisible to 82 years old "I want to continue this shop for 100 years."
She looks so young.
The every staff work there as long duration as the shops.
There are a variety of shops at this time, and owners have various characteristics.
Even though it is nothing special, it is good to balance the lives of people, goods and money.
I like her down-to-earth thinking.

Be linked by fate, I have relation with them long long time.
I really respect her but I will not do anything like imitating other shops.

First of all I thank you for having a pleasant new years morning.
I will do my best in health this year.
My dream is to continue the sign of the Enoki for 100 years too.
